Privacy Policy

Effective date: August 30, 2024 • Version 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains how Interview Ignition AI ("we", "us", "our") handles information in connection with our website, downloads, and desktop software (the "Software"). Our guiding principle is simple: process on device, collect nothing by default.

TL;DR: The app runs locally; we don’t store your call audio, screen contents, transcripts, prompts, or personal details on our servers. If you contact us by email, we will only see what you send us and use it to help you.

Summary of Key Points

This overview highlights core ideas from the full policy.

  • We only see personal information if you send it to us (for example, email support or request a receipt). See Section 1.
  • The desktop app processes call audio, prompts, and screen context locally. We do not store this data on our servers. See Section 2.
  • Limited infrastructure providers may process IP addresses or error logs solely to deliver downloads and keep the site stable. See Section 4.
  • You can exercise privacy rights (access, deletion, objections, state-specific opt-outs) by emailing [email protected]. See Sections 11–14.
  • We update this notice when practices change and always note the latest revision date. See Section 15.

1. What Information Do We Collect?

This notice covers our public website, license fulfillment, referral programs, support inboxes, and the Interview Ignition AI desktop application. We intentionally avoid collecting personal information unless you choose to share it with us.

Personal information you disclose to us. We collect information you voluntarily provide, such as:

Sensitive information. We do not request or intentionally process sensitive categories (such as health data, race, union membership, or biometric identifiers) and ask that you do not send them to us.

Payment data. Payments are handled by our payment processors (such as Stripe or Paddle). They process card numbers and security codes directly. We receive only limited billing confirmations (no full card details).

Information collected automatically. When you visit the site, our CDN and hosting partners may log standard technical data (IP address, browser type, basic device info, pages requested, timestamps) to keep the service secure and diagnose outages. We do not use this data to identify you.

Information from third parties. We do not purchase data about you from brokers or advertising networks, and we do not ingest personal data from social platforms.

Google API disclosures. If we integrate with Google APIs in the future, we will comply with the Google API Services User Data Policy (including Limited Use requirements) and will ask for your explicit consent before any data is shared.

2. How Do We Process Your Information?

We process personal information only for clearly defined purposes:

4. When & With Whom Do We Share Data?

We only share personal information when necessary:

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for interest-based advertising.

5. Do We Use Cookies & Tracking?

Our website uses only essential cookies for security and load balancing. We avoid analytics or marketing trackers by default. If we embed third-party media (such as a YouTube video or payment widget), that provider may set its own cookies according to its policy. You can control cookies via your browser settings, and many browsers support automatic deletion on exit.

6. Do We Offer AI-Based Products?

Interview Ignition AI primarily runs locally and can work without any AI connection. If you choose to connect an external AI provider (for example, by entering your own API key), your prompts and responses travel directly between your device and that provider. We do not proxy those requests or store their contents.

If we introduce hosted AI features in the future, we will clearly explain what data is processed, which vendors are involved, and how to opt out.

7. How Do We Handle Social Logins?

We currently do not offer social login or account linking. If we ever add this functionality, we will only request the minimum profile data required and will update this section before any such feature launches.

8. How Long Do We Keep Information?

Because the Software processes data on your device, we typically do not retain personal information. For support tickets or transactional emails, we keep information only as long as needed to resolve your request, comply with legal obligations, or maintain accurate financial records. When data is no longer required, it is securely deleted or anonymized.

9. How Do We Keep Information Safe?

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including HTTPS, content delivery hardening, code-signing for desktop builds, principle-of-least-privilege access controls, and continuous monitoring for anomalies. Despite these efforts, no system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee against all unauthorized access. Please use secure networks and keep your devices patched.

10. Do We Collect Information From Minors?

The Services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect or market to children. If we learn that data from a minor has been provided, we will delete it and may disable access associated with that information. Please contact us if you believe a minor has provided data without authorization.

11. What Are Your Privacy Rights?

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, data portability, withdrawal of consent, or restriction of processing. You may also object to certain processing based on legitimate interests. Submit requests using the contact methods in Section 16. We will respond as required by law.

12. Controls for Do-Not-Track Features

At this time, no uniform standard exists for handling browser “Do-Not-Track” (DNT) signals, so we do not respond to them. If a standard emerges, we will update this policy accordingly.

13. US State Privacy Rights

Residents of certain US states (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, and Virginia) may have additional rights to know, access, delete, or opt out of specific processing. We do not “sell” or “share” personal information or engage in profiling that produces significant effects.
